Al luisterend naar het radionieuws kreeg ik er last van...

...een Déjà Vu: uitbraak van een buikgriepvirus op cruiseschip Liberty.. en wellicht hetzelfde virus als twee jaar terug op de Nationale Jamboree: Norovirus. Een erg besmettelijk virus dat lastig aan te pakken is, vooral wanneer veel mensen dicht op elkaar zitten, zoals op een Jamboree of een cruiseschip...

“Hot flash....I just got an instant mail from one of my friends on the Liberty...and we had a running on line conversation....It seems the Norovirus struck the ship on the crossing....They have over 1000 people come down with it, and the crew's gymnasium is being used as a make shift hospital ward. Deb said it was terrible...they can't use the buffet, bleach everywhere and if it gets any worse EVERYONE is going to be quarrantined to their cabins. The bus boys are being used as waiters because even the staff is getting real sick. But, the cooks are still able to prepare the meals. A lot of the activities have been cancelled.....What a bummer.
